A staunchly nonpartisan campaign that aims to reboot our political discourse.
"Would you like to hear about my independent run for state representative?" Sawin asked people passing by her campaign table on a warm September Sunday. "My top issues are water, wastewater and land use."

A third candidate will join Republican Ellen Troxclair and Democrat Dwain Handley in the race to be the Texas House District 19 (HD-19) representative in the Nov. 5 General Election.
On Monday, Kodi Sawin declared her candidacy as an Independent in HD19, which includes Blanco, Burnet, Kendall, Gillespie and far west Travis County.
“My first rule is no national politics or national astro turfing campaigns. No. 2 is no partisan talking points, and three, you can’t talk bad about your neighbor and I’m serious about that one,” Sawin said on the Paul Rieckhoff Independent Americans show.

We are elated to share this Voter Guide with all of you! We sent out a six question survey to all candidates on the ballot across the state to educate their voters (you!) on their positions regarding key mental health policy issues. We had 47 candidates for the Texas House of Representatives who filled out their survey. As some of you may notice, there may be some questions that were not answered by the respective candidate. Furthermore, there are two different resources that were used for the first question at different times due to availability.
